Summary
Iodine Tablets are prevention, not a cure. In real life potassium iodide does not heal radiation sickness, it keeps the body from taking up more; the mod works the same way: you take a tablet before walking into the reactor room or onto contaminated ground. A dose already carried is cured by a bucket of milk, and later by the Antirad bar: "a tablet before the job, a bar after it".
How to use
Hold right-click with the tablets in hand — one is swallowed in 0.8 s, on a full stomach too.

The Iodine Protection effect
- While it lasts, every radiation sweep adds half the usual dose — from rods, from uranium in your pockets, from ore. Rounded down.
- A dose already carried is not removed: the scale stays where it was.
- A second tablet sets the timer back to a full 5 minutes but does not strengthen the protection — there is only one level.
- The shielding suit and the Respirator skill work together with the tablet: the suit and the skill take their share first, then the tablet halves what is left.
- A bucket of milk removes this effect too, like any other.
One subtlety: the dose also drains by itself every second. So with very weak background (ore in your pocket) half a dose may not outpace the drain — the scale then stands still or falls. With a strong source the scale rises noticeably slower, but it still rises.

The macerator grinds the ash out of dried kelp; raw kelp is dried in a furnace first. The mod's general ash is not touched. One kelp and one sulfur dust give two tablets — 10 minutes of protection.
