Summary

Bearings are crafting components that give machinery a rotating joint: the basic one and the reinforced one. They are items, not blocks — they exist only as ingredients.

Both tiers are deliberately built from parts the mod was not using. Before the stone gear had no consumer recipe at all, nor did the nickel plate, while the reinforced bronze plate, while the electrum gear had exactly one. The bearings put all four to work without introducing a new ore.

Recipes

Basic Bearing — ×4 per craft: four nickel plates at the corners as the race, four iron nuggets as the rolling elements and a stone gear at the centre.

Reinforced Bearing — ×1: two basic bearings braced with reinforced bronze plates around an electrum gear. Hence the look: two rings stacked on top of each other.

Progression

The basic bearing is available as soon as nickel ore and the stone gear are — an early part. The reinforced one needs bronze (copper + tin), electrum and a forge hammer, so slightly later, and costs two basic ones.
