Summary

An Energy Clot is what the Energy Condenser turns the grid's surplus into: energy that would otherwise simply vanish. There are three tiers — I, II and III — and they are three distinct items, not a stack of the same one.

A clot cannot be bought and cannot be crafted: the only way to get one is to let the condenser's bank fill up and take what its output slot offers. The longer you wait, the higher the tier.

ClotBanked EU/FE requiredTimes the previous one
Tier I250,000 EU/FE
Tier II1,000,000 EU/FE×4
Tier III4,000,000 EU/FE×4
Mini-example: the condenser has banked 950,000 — the slot holds a tier-I clot. Take it now and that is what you get, while the 700,000 above its price burn. Wait for the million and the very same slot hands you tier II.

Energy

A clot neither stores nor gives back EU/FE: the energy was spent the moment it formed. This is a material, not a battery — you cannot slot it into a machine to power it.

How it is used

The only use is machine overclockers, and every step needs a

OverclockerWhat goes into it
Overclocker Itier I clot + an empty chip + two gold ingots + redstone
Overclocker IItier II clot + Overclocker I + three gold ingots
Overclocker IIItier III clot + Overclocker II + three gold ingots

The steps stack: each tier is built on top of the previous one, so reaching tier III costs all three clots in sequence, not just the last.

Inventory

Not applicable (items). Stack: 64. They are pulled from the condenser's output slot by hand, hopper or pipe — and taking one wipes the bank completely, however full it was.

Recipes

No tier has a crafting recipe — clots are only ever grown in the condenser. There is no way back either: a clot cannot be broken down into EU/FE.

Progression

They appear once you have surplus generation: on a hungry grid the condenser banks nothing. They gate the entire machine-speed branch — without clots no overclocker can be built at all. The way to speed this up is scale, not upgrades: more condensers and thicker wiring.

Energy Condenser — the only source. Overclocker — the only consumer. Empty Chip — the other half of the first-tier recipe.
