Summary

Flux Thread and Fluxweave Cloth are two steps of one material, and the only road to the Fluxweave armour. The chain is short and one-way:

fibre + silver dust → Flux Thread → (×4) Fluxweave Cloth → armour

The thread is plated in the Galvanic Bath — the one machine in the mod that needs water to run. The cloth is made on a crafting table: four threads in a square give one bolt.

Mini-example: one thread is 25 seconds of bath time and 1000 EU/FE. A bolt takes four threads, and a chestplate takes four bolts: sixteen threads, nearly seven minutes of the bath running without a pause.

Energy

Neither thread nor cloth stores energy. The EU/FE goes into making the thread, and a charge only appears once the armour itself is finished.

How it is used

Thread only ever goes into cloth — it has no other consumer. Cloth goes into the four armour pieces and, separately, into repairing them: the set is mended with cloth on a crafting table or an anvil.

Besides cloth, every piece takes an electronic circuit, a battery and tempered iron — and the battery's charge carries over into the finished item instead of burning away.

Recipes

Flux Thread: fibre (vanilla string or cotton fibre) + silver dust in the Galvanic Bath, 25 seconds and 1000 EU/FE apiece, plus water in the tank. Fluxweave Cloth: four threads in a 2×2 square on a crafting table, no machine involved.

There is no way back: cloth cannot be unravelled into threads.

Progression

Gated behind silver and the Galvanic Bath, i.e. the middle of the LV branch. The most time-expensive material of the mod at this stage — the bath is slower than any other machine, and a full set needs forty threads, close to seventeen minutes of its running time. Unlocks the only EU/FE armour set; keep spare cloth around, because that is also what repairs a worn set.

Galvanic Bath — where the thread is plated. Fluxweave Armour — what all of it is for. Silver Ore — the source of the dust used in plating.
