Silver Ore
alaindustrial:silver_ore
Summary
Silver is the mod's rare, deep metal, held in reserve for electronics: the material the mid-tier circuits and MV-tier components will be built from. Its ore spawns in stone and in deepslate — deeper and far rarer than tin — and is mined with any stone pickaxe or better.
Mini-example: just like tin, a furnace gives you 1 ingot per ore, while the Macerator route grinds a block of ore (or the raw) into 2 dust (2 ingots). But silver is scarce — it pays to macerate every block and raw drop you find rather than furnace it.
There is no vanilla silver, so the ingot is a mod item. Silver is not a "bank-it" metal: all of the mod's LV electronics and logistics are already built on it. The electronic circuit takes a silver ingot, and that circuit goes into the generator, macerator, pump and solar panel; silver also goes into the item pipe, the silver chest, the silver gear, the stock display frame, the electric furnace and the sawmill.
| Form | How you get it |
|---|---|
| Ore (stone / deepslate) | mined in the world; pickaxe drops raw, Silk Touch gives the block |
| Raw | the pickaxe drop from the ore; smelts into an ingot |
| Dust | a block of ore or the raw grinds into 2 dust; a finished ingot grinds into 1 |
| Ingot | smelting the raw, the ore, or the dust |
Where to find it
Silver is rare and deep: small veins sitting lower than tin, roughly in the band where you would also hunt for gold. Expect to find it only while dedicated deep mining.
Block Properties
It behaves like a vanilla ore: it needs a stone pickaxe or better, the drop scales with Fortune, and Silk Touch yields the ore block itself.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Tool | stone pickaxe or better (wood/gold drop nothing) |
| Drop | raw silver ×1 (Fortune multiplies; Silk Touch → the block) |
Recipes (processing)
Two routes out of one vein. Furnace route (no machines): smelt the raw (or the ore) into an ingot — 1 ingot per ore. Macerator route (doubling): grind a block of ore or the raw into 2 dust, then smelt each dust into an ingot — 2 ingots per ore. Re-processing a finished ingot grinds back down to 1 dust (no doubling). The doubling applies to both the whole ore block and the raw — macerate either form.
Progression
Silver is a key material already at LV, not a "bank-it" metal. The electronic circuit is built on it (and through it, almost every machine and generator), as are the item pipe, the silver chest and the silver gear. The higher MV tier will later demand silver in still larger amounts, so a spare ingot is never wasted.
