Engraved Plate
All variants

Summary
Engraved plates are eighteen decorative blocks: ten plates with the digits 0–9, seven broken plates that keep only a fragment of a letter, and the letter plate, which shows any letter of a number — whole or broken. The plaque of a previous record on the wall of an abandoned lab is made of them: a broken plate (the lost first letter) and three digits. So is the number plaque in a capsule house of a work town: the construction drone engraves the resident's number on it. The plates have no function — they are a clue and a building decoration.
Quick example: down in an abandoned lab, four plates sit in a dark frame on the wall: a chipped one, then3,0,4. The letter is lost for good; only the digits remain. And in a restored house of the town, where shift worker E-102 has moved in, the plaque reads in full:E,1,0,2.

The seven broken plates are the letters W, K, P, B, D, R, M, all from the archive record alphabet. Each broke in its own way and keeps just enough of the letter to show a letter was there, not enough to say which. That is why all seven share one name — "Broken Engraved Plate" — so the tooltip does not give the letter away.
Letter plate
The "Engraved Letter Plate" is one plate for all 21 letters of shift workers' numbers (A B C D E F G H J K L M N P Q R S T U W X), and each letter can be whole or broken. It is placed not by the player but by the construction drone, when it has nothing else to do:
- in a house where a shift worker lives, the plaque shows its number — a whole letter and three digits;
- the house is left empty (the resident moved out or died for good) — the drone makes the first letter broken: the plaque keeps the number of the last resident;
- a house where nobody has lived yet keeps the ruin's plaque;
- a plate the player carried off is first brought back by the house's repair, and then the drone engraves it.
The engraving goes on without chat messages. When a house is compared with its intact version, all plates of the plaque count as equal, so a new number is not counted as damage. A mined letter plate drops with the same letter and the same chip. The creative tab has the plate with a whole letter A.
Recipes
There are no recipes. The plates are found only in abandoned labs and on the house plaques of work towns (and in Creative mode).
Progression
Outside the mod's energy system and progression. The plaque made of plates is a lore clue: a trace of a previous record of the archive. In a work town a house's plaque shows who lives in it and who lived there last.
