Portable Fluid Tank
alaindustrial:fluid_tank
Summary
The Portable Fluid Tank stores up to 8 buckets (8000 mB) of one fluid. It needs no EU/FE, has no GUI, and does not push fluid automatically. Its glass walls show the actual fluid and fill level. Water, lava, and fluids registered by other mods can move through buckets, Vacuum Capsules, or the native loader fluid capability. Breaking the tank keeps its contents in the dropped item.
Fluid storage
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Capacity | 8000 mB (8 buckets) |
| Fluids at once | 1 |
| Input / output | all 6 faces |
| Automatic output | none |
Different fluids never mix. A comparator outputs 0 while empty and 1–15 according to fullness.
Block properties
The full-block footprint contains a sealed frame with 3 px top/bottom plates, four 3×3 px corner posts, and four translucent glass walls. A runtime renderer draws both the glass and the fluid inside it, using the registered fluid texture and tint. The block's shape follows that whole body — plates, posts and walls (1 px panes on each of the four sides, y 3–13). The walls must be in the shape even though a renderer, not the model, draws them: without them a click on the glass passes through and lands on the block behind the tank, so a player aiming at the tank empties a bucket of lava at their own feet. The shape is not a full cube on purpose — a full cube would have to occlude to satisfy the block standards, and occlusion paints the tank's own inside black. Empty tank items stack normally. A filled tank carries one atomic fluid_tank_contents component and has a maximum stack size of one. Its inventory icon tints the inner fluid layer from the registered fluid colour, while the standard item bar shows the stored amount relative to 8000 mB.
