Summary

The Tempest Mill is the second tier of the tempest branch (T2), an evolution of the basic Wind Turbine. Its base is slightly above T1 (step 16, cap 6), but the weather multipliers are stronger: rain ×2, thunder ×3, with an overall cap of 16 EU/FE/tick. In clear weather it's weaker than the Sky Mill, but in rain and thunder it's an exciting "storm-catcher". It is obtained only through evolution of the basic turbine with a Lunar Evolution Chip; it has no crafting recipe.

Energy

The turbine only produces power and never accepts incoming energy. An 8000 EU/FE buffer, LV-tier output. Energy is emitted from the back face only — same as T1, so the cable on the back wall keeps working after evolution. The other 5 faces are inert.

Generation

As with T1, the base grows with altitude, but the cap is a bit higher (6) and weather hits harder: in rain the base is multiplied by 2, in thunder by 3, with an overall cap of 16 EU/FE/tick. In rain the Tempest Mill already beats what T1 does in a thunderstorm. In clear weather it's weaker than the Sky Mill (base 6 vs 8).

Altitude, sky and weather are recalculated roughly once every two seconds; between recalculations the rate stays the same. Blade clearance and rotor interference are exactly the same as on T1: the rotor needs a clear 2×2 square in front of the turbine, and overlapping blades with a neighbouring turbine stops both (even in a full thunderstorm). Full rules and the diagram are in the T1 spec.

Interface

Type: container — energy bar (tooltip on hover), the central rotor slot and status indicator in the same positions as the basic turbine. No chip slot and no evolution progress (T2 is a leaf — it doesn't evolve further).

Recipes

The Tempest Mill isn't craftable. The only way to get it is to grow it from a basic turbine: insert a Lunar Evolution Chip and let it work under open sky with a rotor installed. The stored energy carries over on evolution. Crafting: none. The block is not available from a crafting table. Evolution (the only way to obtain it): a basic Wind Turbine + rotor installed + alignment_chip_night + accumulated open-sky time → turns into the Tempest Mill, carrying over its NBT (energy).
