Sky Mill
Summary
The Sky Mill is the second tier of the sky branch (T2), an evolution of the basic Wind Turbine. It produces EU/FE from the wind with open sky above, but its base grows with altitude twice as fast (+1 EU/FE/tick per 8 blocks instead of 16) and caps higher (16 EU/FE/tick). It is obtained only through evolution of the basic turbine with a Solar Evolution Chip; it has no crafting recipe.
Energy
The turbine only produces power and never accepts incoming energy. An 8000 EU/FE buffer, LV-tier output. Energy is emitted from the back face only — same as T1, so the cable on the back wall keeps working after evolution. The other 5 faces are inert.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Role | producer with buffer |
| Buffer (EU/FE) | 8000 |
| Max input | n/a (does not accept energy) |
| Max output (EU/FE/tick) | 32 (LV) |
| EU/FE/tick | 0–16 (base 0–8 by altitude × weather multiplier, capped at 16) |
Generation
As with T1, but doubled payoff from altitude: the base grows by +1 EU/FE/tick per 8 blocks above sea level (instead of 16), up to 8 EU/FE/tick, and weather multiplies it up to a 16 EU/FE/tick cap in a thunderstorm. At y ≈ 128 the Sky Mill already outputs its full base.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Source | wind: altitude above sea level + open sky + weather |
| Working condition | rotor installed AND open sky above the block AND blade area is clear AND buffer not full |
| Dimensions | minecraft:overworld |
| EU/FE/tick (base) | +1 EU/FE/tick per 8 blocks above sea level, up to 8 |
| Modifiers | weather: clear ×1, rain ×1.5, thunder ×2.0; result capped at 16 EU/FE/tick |
Altitude, sky and weather are recalculated roughly once every two seconds; between recalculations the rate stays the same. Blade clearance and rotor interference are exactly the same as on T1: the rotor needs a clear 2×2 square in front of the turbine, and overlapping blades with a neighbouring turbine stops both. Full rules and the diagram are in the T1 spec.
Interface
Type: container — energy bar (tooltip on hover), the central rotor slot and status indicator in the same positions as the basic turbine. No chip slot and no evolution progress (T2 is a leaf — it doesn't evolve further).

Recipes
The Sky Mill isn't craftable. The only way to get it is to grow it from a basic turbine: insert a Solar Evolution Chip and let it work under open sky with a rotor installed. The stored energy carries over on evolution. Crafting: none. The block is not available from a crafting table. Evolution (the only way to obtain it): a basic Wind Turbine + rotor installed + alignment_chip_day + accumulated open-sky time → turns into the Sky Mill, carrying over its NBT (energy).
