Summary

Tempered-iron armor is a full four-piece set — helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots. Each piece is tougher than its iron counterpart and is repaired with tempered iron (via the tempered_iron_armor_materials tag). Protection sits a bit above iron and below diamond — a middle ground between the early and late game.

Mini-example: a full set of tempered-iron armor gives noticeably more protection than an iron set, while being crafted from smelted iron (cheaper than diamond gear). A solid intermediate layer before stepping up to diamond/netherite.

Energy

Not applicable (non-powered armor).

How it's used

Equipped into the matching armor slots (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots). Repaired at an anvil with tempered iron.

Block Properties

Not applicable (items). Stack: 1 each.

Recipes

All four pieces are crafted at a workbench (shaped 3×3) from tempered iron on standard vanilla armor patterns: HelmetIII / I I ChestplateI I / III / III LeggingsIII / I I / I I BootsI I / I I I — tempered iron ingot.

Progression

Item-category armor, no tier of its own. Fills the gap between iron and diamond armor: tougher than iron, available earlier than diamond (via tempering iron in an electric furnace / furnace), repairable.
