Diesel
Summary
Diesel is the light fraction of oil distillation and the target product of the Distillation Column: 700 mB out of every bucket of crude oil. It does not occur in the world — the column is its only source. Golden-yellow and runny; unlike oil it does not burn in the world and does not drown you. You can fall into spilled diesel — it is the thinnest of the three: you sink fastest, but you also climb out most easily by holding jump. Below the surface a thin amber film covers the screen.
Mini-example: a pump set against the top of the column drains diesel into a portable tank — or put an empty bucket into the diesel slot of the tower's interface.
Block Properties
| What | Value |
|---|---|
| Physics | spreads; does not burn, does not drown, no fall damage |
| Immersion | the lightest damping of the three (viscosity 1200): ≈9.6 blocks/s down, ≈2.4 blocks/s up while holding jump |
| Submerged | amber film on screen, fog 4 … 22 blocks |
| Regenerates | no — two sources never spawn a third |
| Collection | bucket, capsule, pump |
| Tag | c:diesel (still + flowing) |
Progression
Arrives together with the column — iteration 2 of the oil branch. Its purpose is fuel: the liquid fuel generator (the branch's next task) will burn it at 12 EU/FE/t (12 000 EU/FE per bucket) — exactly the throughput of one copper line. The c:combustion_fuels tag (diesel + fuel oil + lava) has already shipped — for the generator's tank filter.
