Summary

The Geothermal Generator burns lava instead of coal. It's twice as strong as the plain Generator, and a single bucket goes a long way — so you spend far less time babysitting fuel. You craft it from a regular Generator, so it's an upgrade, not a first power source.

Mini-example: pour one lava bucket in → it runs for a good while at 16 EU/FE/t, pushing about 16 000 EU/FE into your network. A full 10-bucket tank keeps a small base running almost unattended.

Energy

The generator only produces power — it never takes any in. It holds up to 4000 EU/FE inside and sends it out on an LV line.

Energy leaves through the 5 working faces. The front face is inert — cables don't connect there and hoppers don't work through it.

Generation

Burns lava at a steady 16 EU/FE/t. One bucket holds enough for about 16 000 EU/FE — a much better deal per unit of fuel-handling than coal.

Inventory

There's an internal 10-bucket lava tank plus an item slot for filling it.

SlotTakesCount
Lava inlava bucket or lava capsule (empty container comes back)1
Outputempty buckets / empty capsules

Three ways to fill the tank: Drop a lava bucket or lava capsule in the slot — the empty container returns to the output slot. Pipe lava in as a fluid (e.g. from an adjacent Pump). Shift-right-click the block directly with a lava bucket or lava capsule — the lava goes into the tank and the empty container stays in your hand (nothing spills). When the tank is full, any of these is a silent no-op — the container stays full and nothing spills.

Interface

One screen shows the buffer level, how full the lava tank is, and the output rate.

Block Properties

An ordinary solid block. Any pickaxe breaks it.

Recipes

Crafted at a workbench from an already-built Generator in a smooth-stone body, with an electronic circuit underneath. That makes it an upgrade: you need the LV start cleared first, so it's not a first power source.

Progression

Tier: LV. An upgrade over the coal Generator — twice the output for far less refueling, at the cost of dealing with lava.
