Summary

The Vulcanizer finishes the oil chain. It combines one raw rubber with four sulfur dust and only runs when supplied with EU/FE and a heat source directly below it.

Mini-example: place it on a lit campfire, put raw rubber in the left slot and four sulfur dust in the right one, connect LV power from the side, and receive one rubber.

Energy

Heat from below

The source is read from the block directly under the machine.

Every level consumes exactly 1 raw rubber + 4 sulfur dust. Heat multiplies the output but not the batch price, so a stronger heat source is the main way to stretch the sulfur you have found.

The Electric Heater stands apart in this table: until it has warmed up it is not a heat source at all, and the machine above it waits. Warming up takes about ten seconds, but after that the Vulcanizer runs at ×3 straight away. The details are on its own page.

If the heat level drops during an operation, progress safely restarts with the new multiplier; restarting does not consume the ingredients. If the level rises, the batch calmly plays out on the multiplier it started with and the upgrade goes to the next one — so swapping the heat on the last tick does not raise the output of an almost finished operation.

Inventory and automation

Inputs are served from above and output from the sides. The bottom face is reserved for heat and is not exposed to item automation.

Interface

The screen shows energy, progress, both inputs, output, the heat source and its ×1/×2/×3 multiplier. Its status explains missing ingredients, power, heat or output space.

Block properties

Mine with a pickaxe; breaking it drops the block and inventory. Lights up and emits steam only while working. Reacts immediately when the block below changes.

Crafted at a table from sulfur dust, iron ingots, a machine casing and an electronic circuit.
