Summary

Cupronickel is a one-to-one copper-and-nickel alloy made by the Alloy Smelter. It is the simplest of the four recipes: one ingot of each metal, no multipliers.

Mini-example: put one copper ingot in any input slot of the smelter and one nickel ingot in any other. Seven and a half seconds later the output holds one cupronickel ingot. Slot order does not matter.

The smelter returns a single ingot per operation, so the full 1200 EU/FE is spent on that one ingot. There is no cupronickel ore: the alloy comes out of the smelter and nowhere else, and a vanilla furnace will not make it.

Two ingots in, one out: melting costs metal, and that holds for every alloy in the mod. Copper and nickel are accepted through the conventional tags c:ingots/copper and c:ingots/nickel, so copper from another mod is taken just like the mod's own.

Progression

Cupronickel now has a cupronickel plate — the forge hammer or the Compressor — and a reinforced version made from two plates. The ingot itself goes into the diamond-tipped electric hoe. In material terms it is the gentlest way to spend nickel — one cheap copper per ingot instead of two iron as in invar — but nickel is still wanted by electronic circuits, so stockpiling the alloy only pays off while nickel is spare.

Alloy Smelter — the only source of cupronickel. Nickel — the bottleneck of the recipe; the copper is vanilla. Bronze, Invar, Electrum — the other three alloys from the same smelter.
