Summary

Bronze is the cheapest and the most mass-produced of the mod's four alloys. The Alloy Smelter melts it out of copper and tin — two metals you have usually piled up well before the smelter itself is built.

Mini-example: put three copper ingots in any input slot of the smelter and one tin ingot in any other. Seven and a half seconds later the output holds two bronze ingots. Slot order does not matter.

Bronze is the only alloy the smelter returns two ingots at a time, which is why it costs half the energy per ingot the other three do. There is no bronze ore: the alloy comes out of the smelter and nowhere else, and a vanilla furnace will not make it.

FormHow you get it
Ingotalloying 3 copper + 1 tin ingot in the Alloy Smelter → 2 ingots
Platehammering an ingot with a Forge Hammer on a crafting table, or the Compressor, 260 EU/FE
Reinforced platehammering 2 plates on a crafting table, or the Compressor: 2 plates → 1, 260 EU/FE

Recipe (alloying)

The only route is the Alloy Smelter.

Four ingots in, two out: melting costs metal, and that holds for every alloy in the mod. Copper and tin are accepted through the conventional tags c:ingots/copper and c:ingots/tin, so copper from another mod is taken just like the mod's own.

Progression

Bronze is no longer a dead end: an ingot is forged into a bronze plate — by hand with a Forge Hammer or in bulk in the Compressor — and two plates press into one reinforced bronze plate, the blank for heavy parts. The ingot itself goes into the Diamond-Tipped Electric Chainsaw. Per ingot bronze is the cheapest of the four and the easiest to put into steady production, which makes it the natural alloy to learn plate rolling on.

Alloy Smelter — the only source of bronze. Tin — the second metal in the recipe; the copper is vanilla. Invar, Cupronickel, Electrum — the other three alloys from the same smelter.
