Summary

The Advanced Machine Casing is the Machine Casing one tier up: mid-tier (MV) machines are built on it. It is crafted from a plain casing clad in 6 Tempered Iron plates above and below, with 2 Advanced Circuits on either side.

The chain still reads plainly, but it is now a double one: iron → tempered iron → plate gives you the cladding, and oil → rubber → advanced circuit gives you the innards. Reaching MV costs a full pass through the furnace and either the Forge Hammer or the Compressor and a finished oil line, rather than replaying LV with a different texture.

It does nothing on its own and holds no energy — it is a crafting part, and incidentally a building block: dark steel with four riveted panels, easy to tell apart from the pale LV casing.

Quick example: already have a machine casing? Smelt 6 iron ingots into tempered iron and hammer them into 6 plates, then craft 2 Advanced Circuits. Casing in the middle of the grid, a circuit to its left and right, plates in rows above and below — that is your advanced casing.

Recipes

Craft: a plain Machine Casing in the middle, 2 Advanced Circuits on either side of it, and 6 tempered-iron plates in rows above and below.

Where it's used: the base of MV machines. The first of them is the Assembler.

Progression

Tier: MV. The first part that exists purely for the mid tier. Requires a finished LV casing, i.e. the plate phase and the first machines behind you. Since it also requires 2 Advanced Circuits, i.e. a finished oil line: oil → Polymerizer → Vulcanizer → rubber. Before that, reaching MV was one more lap around the iron chain you had already mastered, and it did not feel like a step up. Existing LV machines are untouched: their recipes still use the plain casing.

Machine Casing — the LV predecessor, and an ingredient here. Tempered Iron — the cladding material. Material Forms — plates. Electronic Circuit — the other mandatory part of machine recipes. Advanced Circuit — the MV circuit seated in this casing. Assembler — the first MV machine built on this casing.
