Summary

The Wind Mill Rotor is a crafting component: the blades you place into the rotor slot of any wind mill (T1 basic, T2 sky/tempest). Without a rotor in the slot, the wind mill generates nothing. The rotor is a durability component: it wears out only while the mill actually generates EU/FE (proportional to output, faster in rain/thunder) and breaks when its durability runs out. The wear bar shows in your inventory and in the mill's slot.

It comes in three grades. The higher the grade, the pricier the craft — and the more EU/FE the very same mill makes in the very same conditions, and the less often you have to replace the part. Nothing needs rebuilding: just drop a better rotor into the same slot. The grade is visible from a distance — each one has its own blades.

Days are in-game days of continuous operation at a typical output. The wooden rotor is available as soon as you can combine the basic materials from the start of the game.

Each grade is crafted from the one below it, placed in the centre of the grid. You cannot skip a rung, and the top grade's price honestly includes the whole branch. A worn rotor works as an ingredient just as well as a pristine one.

Mini-example: your wind farm hums along, but trekking out to replace broken rotors has worn thin? The advanced rotor lasts nine times as long as the wooden one and raises output by half along the way — one trip instead of nine, and more power.

⚠️ The bonus does not breach the generator's ceiling. A wind mill is capped in EU/FE/t, and a better rotor does not raise that cap — it gets the generator TO the cap sooner in moderate wind. At the peak (a tall tower in a thunderstorm) all three grades hit the same ceiling and only the service life still differs. Mind the cable, too: an upgraded tempest mill reaches 24 EU/FE/t, twice what a copper cable carries — you need a gold cable or two lines.

Energy

Uses no energy — it's a plain ingredient for the rotor slot.

How it's used

Goes into the dedicated rotor slot of the Wind Mill (T1), and after evolution the Sky Mill and Tempest Mill (T2). One rotor serves any wind device in the mod.

Not applicable (item). Durability component: max durability 1000, so it does not stack (stack: 1).

Recipes

Crafted at a workbench (shaped 3×3): planks in the corners, iron in a cross, a wooden gear in the centre, and copper cable above and below the centre.

Progression

A component with no tier of its own. Gates wind generation: until you have a rotor, the wind mill is silent. The rotor itself is crafted from early materials, so it's available alongside your first wind mill.

Component Repair Bench — clears this part's wear for one item and some EU/FE; every repair lowers its durability ceiling, and there are four of them. Wind Mill — the basic rotor consumer. Sky Mill T2 and Tempest Mill T2 — evolution consumers. Wooden Gear — the rotor's central component.
