Fluxweave Chestplate
alaindustrial:fluxweave_chestplate
Summary
The Fluxweave Chestplate is the core of the EU/FE set made of Fluxweave cloth and its most cloth-hungry piece: it takes twice as much material as the helmet. While it holds charge it adds toughness against heavy hits and knockback resistance, so the wearer stays planted in a fight.
The chestplate's defense is 6, at the iron line: the set's value is its utility, not its armour numbers. The rule that matters: charge switches bonuses on, it never switches protection off. At zero EU/FE the chestplate stays an ordinary chestplate of its material — it does not break, vanish, or lose a single point of defense.
The details of the whole set are on the Fluxweave Armor page.
Energy
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Buffer (EU/FE) | 15,000 |
| Max input (EU/FE/tick) | 32 (LV ceiling) |
| Passive upkeep | 1 EU/FE/second while the chestplate is worn and charged |
Charges in the Battery Box slot, from a worn Energy Pack, and from other mods' chargers through the item energy capability (insert only). A full buffer at 1 EU/FE/s lasts roughly four hours of wear.
What the chestplate gives
Extra toughness: +2. Toughness is what actually blunts heavy blows; the chestplate has 1.0 as a base and 3.0 while charged.
Knockback resistance: 10 %.
The 4/4 set bonus. The chestplate does not regenerate anything on its own: the helmet computes the set bonus, and the chestplate is one of the four pieces that must be charged for it.
All bonuses are attributes, not potion effects: no particles, no HUD icons, no clash with real potions. They apply only while the piece holds charge.
Item Properties
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Defense | 6 |
| Toughness | 1.0 base, +2 while charged |
| Durability | never spent (wear is paid in EU/FE) |
| Enchanting | yes, like ordinary armour (enchanting table, anvil); enchantability 18 |
| Repair | Fluxweave cloth in an anvil |
| Inventory bar | EU/FE charge, in the LV colour |
Appearance
Part of a single suit: a light, silvery weave with dark panel seams. The sleeves run to the wrist. A charged suit runs at full brightness; a flat one darkens all over while keeping the same pattern.
Recipe
The chestplate is crafted at a crafting table from four different components: 4 Fluxweave cloth, 1 electronic circuit, 1 battery and 2 tempered iron. The cloth forms the "shoulders" and the sides, the circuit sits in the middle, tempered iron and the battery run along the bottom — the grid is shown on the crafting card on this page. Four cloths are 16 flux threads from the Galvanic Bath.
The charge held by the battery carries over into the chestplate: a full 2,000 EU/FE battery comes off the table already charged, so the bonuses are available straight away with no separate charging step.
Progression
Tier: LV
Requires: the Galvanic Bath, then flux thread and Fluxweave cloth, plus a circuit, a battery and tempered iron.
Next: the nano set (tier 2), where night vision and hunger slowdown were deliberately deferred.
