Battery
alaindustrial:battery
Summary
The Battery is the mod's first energy carrier: a small 2 000 EU/FE cell you can charge, discharge and carry by the handful. It is still a crafting component, too — batteries go into the Energy Pack, the Electric Drill, the Jetpack, Fluxweave armour and the rest of the powered gear.
What sets it apart from every other powered item in the mod: the battery stacks, and it stacks by charge level. Batteries drained to zero stack with freshly crafted ones, equally charged batteries stack with each other, and batteries at different charges sit apart. One glance at the inventory tells you which are full and which are empty.
Mini-example: charge a handful of batteries in a Battery Box before heading out. Your drill runs dry mid-dig — pull out a battery, right-click the drill, and it is full again. Back home, drop the leftovers into the discharge slot and the energy goes back into the grid.
Energy
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Charge | 2 000 EU/FE per battery |
| Stack | up to 16 — a full stack carries 32 000 EU/FE |
| Intake | 32 EU/FE/t (the LV ceiling) |
| Right-click transfer | 500 EU/FE per click |
Charge is stored per battery. A stack of sixteen therefore takes sixteen times as long to fill as a single one: the store pays for each battery, not for the stack.
How it's used
the charge slot of the Battery Box — available from the very start; the charge slot of the Reinforced Energy Storage; standing on the Charging Station, which fills batteries right in your inventory.
A worn Energy Pack does not charge batteries: a full stack holds more than the pack itself, so it would drain into your spares instead of powering your tools.
Discharging also works three ways:
the discharge slot of the Battery Box; the discharge slot of the Reinforced Energy Storage; right-click with the battery in one hand and a chargeable item in the other — 500 EU/FE per click. This only works with a single item in each hand: charge is counted per battery, so "pour out of a stack" would have no single sensible meaning.
Charge in crafting
Recipes that build a battery into a powered item carry its charge into the result: craft a drill from two full batteries and the drill arrives with 4 000 EU/FE. The sum is capped by the result's own buffer, and the surplus is lost. A drained battery behaves in those recipes exactly as it always did — the result comes out empty.
Recipes whose result stores no EU/FE (Battery Box, Reinforced Energy Storage, Charging Station, Electric Furnace) do not carry charge — it is simply lost. Build those from drained batteries.

Crafted at a workbench (shaped 3×3): see for the exact pattern. Key materials are tin, redstone and copper cable.
Progression
The first step of the EU/FE-carrier line: battery → (planned) energy crystal → lapotron crystal. Arrives at LV, before the Energy Pack, and stays a component of every powered item after it.
