Battery Pouch

Summary
The Battery Pouch is the mod's first electric item — a portable item store that works like a vanilla bundle but holds twice as much and needs a charge. It fits 128 weight of items (about two stacks of ordinary blocks) in one inventory slot, so it earns its keep on long trips and tight inventories. The catch is that while items sit inside it, the pouch slowly burns charge: 1 EU/FE per second. When the charge hits zero a lock snaps shut — you can neither put things in nor take them out until you recharge it. The contents are never lost, only locked.
Mini-example: going mining for an hour? Fill the pouch with cobblestone, ore, the odd tool, and keep your hotbar clean. Top it up at a Battery Box before you head out and it will hold the whole trip — about 33 minutes of carrying on a full charge.
Energy
The pouch carries its own small charge, separate from the energy network. You fill it at a Battery Box; it spends that charge only while items are inside and it sits in your inventory.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Charge held | 2 000 EU/FE |
| Charging | Battery Box charge slot — full in about 3 seconds |
| Drain | 1 EU/FE per second, only while items are inside and it is in your inventory |
| Runs flat in | about 33 minutes of carrying items |
| When empty | contents lock (safe) until you recharge |
Contents
The pouch is one inventory slot holding up to 128 weight. How much an item costs to store depends on how stackable it is — the same rule as a vanilla bundle:
| Item type | Weight of 1 | Fits in 128 |
|---|---|---|
| Blocks and resources (stack to 64) | 1 | 128 items (about 2 stacks) |
| Pearls, snowballs (stack to 16) | 4 | 32 items |
| Tools, buckets (no stack) | 64 | 2 items |
How it behaves
Putting items in: right-click a stack onto the pouch (or the pouch onto a stack) inside an inventory. Items fill an existing partial stack of the same type first, then take up new weight. Anything that does not fit stays in your hand. Taking items out: right-click the pouch in the air or on an empty slot to pull the whole top stack (last in, first out). The lock at zero charge: once the charge runs out, both putting in and taking out are blocked. Nothing is destroyed — the contents just sit there, locked, until you recharge. What drains it: 1 EU/FE per second, but only while items are inside and the pouch is in a player's inventory. Sitting in a chest, on the ground, or in a Battery Box slot, it costs nothing. In creative: it does not drain at all — just as a vanilla tool takes no durability damage in creative. The same rule holds for the whole powered family: the Energy Pack and the Electric Drill spend no charge in creative either. The charge bar: the bar under the icon shows the charge (yellow). The tooltip lists the contents as a grid plus a fill bar showing "weight / 128 (NN%)" with the fill fraction as a percent; below 10 % it warns you, and at zero it shows a red "discharged". Nesting: a pouch cannot go inside another pouch. It can go inside a vanilla bundle or a shulker box. Rename it: at a vanilla anvil. On drop or death: the charge, the contents and a name you set all stay with the pouch.

Recipes
Crafted at a workbench: a leather body, a tin clasp, a vanilla bundle in the centre, and an electronic circuit at the bottom. The recipe shows up in your recipe book once you have all the parts.
Progression
The mod's first electric item — the entry point into powered carrying gear. Available after the Battery Box; without it the pouch cannot be charged. Higher tiers are planned for later — more weight, filters, and linking between pouches.
Compatibility
Recipe viewers (JEI/REI/EMI): crafting only, like any other item. Other mods' chargers can charge the pouch. It exposes the loader's item energy capability (Team Reborn Energy on Fabric, the FE capability on NeoForge), so a foreign charger or charge slot fills it just like the Battery Box does, at 1 EU/FE = 1 FE (the same rate the block side uses). The capability is insert-only: a foreign machine cannot drain the pouch. Intake is capped by the pouch's own input rate (LV: 32 EU/FE per operation), not by the charger's appetite — no foreign mod can fill it faster than the balance allows.
