Summary
Evolution chips are crafting components that move panels and wind mills one rung up. Three
- Solar chip (day) — evolves the base solar panel into the daylight T2 and the base wind mill into the sky T2.
- Lunar chip (night) — evolves the base panel into the moonlit T2, and the wind mill into the tempest T2.
- Resonance chip (the third rung) — evolves the daylight T2 panel into the Mirror Concentrator. Crafted from an alignment chip of either It fills the whole crafting grid, with a day alignment chip in the middle: only the solar branch has a third rung so far, and a chip built around the night one would promise a moonlit lens that does not exist.
Evolution carries accumulated NBT energy: the base block's charge is not lost during the upgrade. The chip itself is consumed in the process.
At the third rung there is one chip for both branches, and that isn't a saving on recipes: by this step the panel already knows whether it is a day or a night panel — the first chip chose the branch, and the choice is written into the block itself. A second line of crafting would buy the player no new decision, only a second row in the recipe viewer.
Mini-example: place a solar panel, accumulate EU/FE, craft a solar chip → evolve the panel to T2 — the charge carries over, the chip is spent, and daytime output quadruples.
Energy
Stores none. The chip is a one-shot evolution catalyst; all EU/FE logic lives on the evolving block.
How it's used
Applied through the evolution slot/recipe of a base T1 block (solar panel or wind mill). After evolution the chip disappears, the T1 becomes a T2 with its NBT energy preserved.
The resonance chip goes into the same slot, but on a daylight T2 panel, and works by the same rules: the panel banks active day-time and at the threshold turns into the Mirror Concentrator, carrying its charge over. The threshold is the same as the first step — 33 600 active ticks, a few clear days.

The first two chips are crafted at a workbench on the same shaped 3×3 pattern: nickel in the corners, a glowing/lapis block in a cross, and an electronic circuit at the centre.

Resonance chip (the third rung) is shapeless, not shaped: one alignment chip of either chip in the middle, and around it resonant shards, a spatial crystal, an energy crystal, reinforced electrum plates and silver gears — the whole grid.
Progression
- Components with no tier of their own.
- Open the T2 era of solar and wind generation. Nickel + glowstone/lapis is a moderate early gate, reachable after a first Nether trip (glowstone) or deep-cave mining (lapis).
- The resonance chip opens the third rung and costs noticeably more: the whole grid is filled, and the eight cells around the day chip are rare parts the player has almost no other use for by this point.
