Summary

The House Plan is the plan of one capsule house type (type 1…4) of one settlement style. It is not kept in a slot: the settlement learns the plan once, the sheet is used up, and from then on the Construction Drones can restore the ruins of houses of that type and build new houses of it.

Quick example: find a house plan in the barrel of a capsule house ruin and right-click the Settlement Core with it. The chat says "…the settlement has learned House Plan (type 2)." Now the ruins of that type have the "Restore" button in the core's "Construction" tab.

How it works

  1. Where to find it. The barrel or chest of every capsule house ruin holds the plan of its type. In one of the houses the same container also holds sheet 2 of the Town Hall Plan.
  2. The town hall's gift. A restored town hall gives the settlement the plan of the plainest house of its style — type 1 — learned at once ("Received: House Plan (type 1)."). The other three types come from ruins or from the crafting table.
  3. Learning. The settlement's restorer right-clicks the core of their settlement with the plan or puts the plan into the plan slot of the Town Dispatcher. The settlement remembers the type for good, the sheet is gone, and the chat says "the settlement has learned …". If the type is already known, the core leaves the plan in your hand: "The settlement already knows this plan". Only the restorer can teach the settlement: "Only the settlement's restorer teaches it plans".
  4. Style. A plan belongs to a style (plains or desert). The settlement does not learn a plan of another style: neither the core nor the dispatcher takes it.
  5. The plan library. The "Building plans" section of the core's "Construction" tab shows all four types: "learned" or "not found". A house ruin of an unlearned type is marked "no plan", and its order is closed with "No house plan of type N yet: look for the sheet in this house's ruin".
  6. What it gives. An order on a ruin of a learned type — "Restore" on the house's card — and laying a new house from a House Inlet: the laying window offers the learned plans. A house that has been restored can be repaired without a plan.
  7. Order of work. The town hall comes first: until it is restored, a house cannot be ordered ("Restore the town hall first").
  8. House limit. The houses being restored, restored or built together are no more than the limit of the core's tier (LV — 4). Untouched ruins do not count.
  9. A house fit to live in. A match with the intact house of 90 % or more and all the key points: a door, a roof without holes, light, a number plaque, a Charging Bed, a House Inlet and the connection to the core. What is missing is shown on the building's card.
  10. Residents. A house fit to live in takes the first homeless shift worker by number by itself. A drone flies over and changes the plates of the plaque to the resident's number; when the house is empty again, the first letter of the number turns "broken".
  11. The Warehouse Plan. The settlement's warehouse is restored the same way, by a learned plan: the "Warehouse Plan" lies in the first barrel of the warehouse ruin, and it can also be crafted (recipe below). It is learned in the same two ways. Until it is learned, the warehouse's card says "No warehouse plan yet: look for it in the warehouse ruin or craft it", and the "Building plans" section shows it on a line of its own.

Block Properties

Not applicable (an item). Stack: 1. Name — "House Plan (type N)"; the tooltip shows the building, the style and the line "Right-click the settlement core or put it into the dispatcher: the settlement learns it for good". The warehouse's plan is named "Warehouse Plan".

Recipes

Crafting table, the whole 3×3 grid. The style by the block in the centre: a Grass Block gives a plains plan, yellow Sandstone (plain, Chiseled, Cut or Smooth; sand does not work) gives a desert plan. The type by the item at the bottom middle.
