Choke
alaindustrial:choke
Summary
The choke is a crafting component in three steps: plain, reinforced and advanced. They are items, not blocks — they exist only as ingredients.
It is the mod's second wound part after the copper coil, built on a different principle: not wire on a core, but a core laminated from plates with a winding on each leg. That is where the ladder comes from — a tier by what the core is stacked from and what it is wound with, not by size.
Energy
Uses and stores no energy — an ordinary crafting ingredient.
How it is used
A semi-finished part. The item carries no mechanic of its own: it exists for the recipes, and so that the mod's electrical line has a part one step above the coil. Which recipe the choke will go into as an ingredient is the open question of task; until that is decided it is not mentioned in any machine spec.

Recipes
All three fill the 3×3 grid completely, and every tier puts the previous one in the centre — the same shape the lightning rod conductor tip uses.
Choke — III / CEC / III: six invar plates as the two yokes, two copper coils on the sides, an electronic circuit in the middle.
Reinforced Choke — DTD / CKC / DTD: the plain choke in the centre, four pinches of diamond dust in the corners, two tempered iron plates as yokes and two more copper coils.
Advanced Choke — SAS / RWR / SPS: the reinforced choke in the centre, four silver plates in the corners — that is the shroud you see on the icon — two resonance coils as windings, an advanced circuit on top and a palladium plate at the bottom.
Progression
- The steps are ordered and named the way the wearing parts of are: plain →
_reinforced→_advanced. - The first choke is available right after the copper coil and invar; the second needs diamond dust, which means a working macerator; the third needs the resonance chain and palladium, that is, the end of the technology line.
Related
- Copper coil — the neighbouring wound part and an ingredient of the first two steps.
- Resonance chain — the windings of the third step.
- Bearings — a component with the same "part plus the part above it" logic.
